Delicia’s Latin Cuisine

There’s more to Latin food than tacos and tortillas, and the new kid on the block is out to make this truth ring evident in the mouths of Lynchburgers. Situated on the corner of Timberlake and Leesville Road, Delicia’s Latin Cuisine has some large shoes to fill in taking the reins of Sweet Stella’s Bakery.

Operated by El Salvadorean born and Washington D.C. bred owner Rudy, this restaurant is certainly one to add to your list. Picture starting your meal with a citrusy and slightly chilled ceviche, working through a plate filled with Salvadorean, Peruvian, and Cuban delights, and making a good thing even better with fried ice cream, tres leches cake, or flan.

Some of Delicia’s more popular dishes include Lomo Saltado (steak fried up with onions and other Latin seasonings), Parillada (grilled steak and Salvadorean sausage),  and Tipico Guanaco with pupusas (corn flour tortillas stuffed with pork, cheese, and beans), fried plaintains, and fried yucca. Their extensive menu also includes classic Latin fare such as tacos, burritos, fajitas, and quesadillas, so there is sure to be something to please all palates.

If you enjoy Latin flavors, and have been looking to give your tongue a chance to experience more exciting flavors, be sure to give Delicia’s a shot.

*Delicia’s is currently looking for someone to create a website, so if you’re looking to support a local business while expanding your portfolio, give Rudy a holler.

Directions: 7106 Timberlake Rd.

  2. Finally got around to visiting this place. Very cool! Tried a pupusa/tamale/carne asada plate which was really good. Generous portions, as well. Plus they have a liquor license/drink specials now (I don’t know if they had an ABC license when you guys did this review).
