First Fridays

If you’ve ever seen Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris,” you know that magical things happen at midnight. Thankfully, on the first Friday of every month, the citizens of Lynchburg do not have to wait for the clock to strike twelve before the enchantment begins.

First Fridays is a lively monthly event, highlighting local artists and their work in numerous galleries scattered throughout the James River Arts and Culture District. Adding to the mystique and grandeur of it all is a free trolley*, escorting lovers and art enthusiasts between downtown and Rivermont Avenue to purvey the wonderful works that await them.

Each month holds something unique for First Fridays, so be sure to keep up with our calendar to get the specifics. This Friday, allow yourself to be transported into a world full of art and culture.

*Typically, the free trolley runs from 5pm-8pm on First Fridays.
