Jerry’s Bagels

If there is one thing that Lynchburg was missing for a long time, it was a great bagel. That all changed when Jerry’s Bagels opened in December of 2011. Owner Tom Sellinger, a Lynchburg College grad, moved back to Lynchburg to start Jerry’s after his home construction business slowed. You may be wondering, “What makes Jerry’s so different?” Well, Jerry’s serves up authentic New York Water Style Bagels, meaning the bagels get boiled before getting baked. I’ve heard that their baker studied bagel-making in New Jersey under the Goldberg family, who have been making New York bagels since the 1920′s. Basically, they have the best bagel in town. With over 14 flavors, there’s something for everyone. Jerry’s even has a Bagel of the Week, which has included flavors like Asiago, Pumpernickel, Egg and Rye.
Jerry’s doesn’t serve just bagels; they also serve soups, salads, and sandwiches featuring Boar’s Head products, making it a great place to grab lunch! Download their menu to see all of their delicious offerings.

This place is great! Went here with a friend for lunch, so friendly, so many options and they cater!
Didn’t know they catered. Thanks for the heads up, Rachel!
I love a good bagel. When I go home to NY I always go to The Better Bagel (Merrick Rd. Amityville, NY). I’m gonna have to stop by this place and see what they got. Hopefully I can find a home away from home in it for all my bagel needs, lol.
Jodie, once you try Jerry’s, let us know what you think!
